What Is the Physician’s Role?

Except in rare, short term circumstances, it is not the physician who decides if a license is or is not granted.  The physician’s responsibility is to describe the situation, and the licensing authority will ,make a decision based on the physician’s observations in addition to other information that may be applicable. “Ultimately, it is the licensing authority, not the physician, that makes the final determination of eligibility (p.5)”
